Hale-Blackburn
Barbara Rose Blackburn and Peter Paul Hale, both of Fletcher, were married on Dec. 19, 2009, at Providence Baptist Church, Charlotte.
The Rev. Beth McConnell officiated the 11:15 a.m. ceremony.
Barbara is the daughter of Robert and Rose Blackburn of Boiling Springs. She is the granddaughter of the late Reid and Kate Blackburn of Mooresboro. She is a graduate of Crest High School and Gardner Webb University. She is the author of nine books, including the bestselling "Rigor is NOT a Four-Letter Word" and "Classroom Motivation from A to Z." She was Junior Professor of the Year in 2006 at Winthrop University and president of the National Association of Professors of Middle Level Education from 2002 to 2004. She is employed by UNC-Charlotte.
Pete is the son the late Peter Hale and Lois Fischione of Pittsburgh, Pa., and stepfather, Gene Fischione of Pittsburgh. He is a graduate of Hampton High School of Pittsburg hand the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is employed by Law Practice Solutions.
