Pollack / Detroit News Design Writer Henry Ford Museum spotlights modern designs by Herman MillerThe focus will be on how designers continually reshape the world around us at a new exhibit opening Saturday and running through April 25 at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Under the theme "Design in Progress," the special exhibit "Good Design: Stories From Herman Miller" spotlights the innovative west Michigan design firm that revolutionized the way we live and work and gave us iconic 20th-century objects such as Charles and Ray Eames' Molded Plymouth Chair, George Nelson's Marshmallow Love Seat (pictured) and Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick's Aeron Chair. The 11-week exhibit explores these mid-century classics, along with ergonomics, graphic communications and work environments, while the Museum Store features a collection of new interior design books, glassware and cute miniature reproductions of Herman Miller chairs.
