There have been several “onions” and “orchids” going back and forth in The Republic regarding President Obama and his role in our nation’s current financial instability and decline. For those who believe that four more years of Barack Obama as president would be good for the country, consider the following:
The national unemployment rate has gone up from 7.6 % to 9.1% under this president. His broken-record solution is spend, spend, spend and raise taxes on those who provide the jobs. Please, no more blaming President Bush. Take some responsibility. At some point (which has passed) President Obama needs to be held accountable for the failure of his “Hope and Change” promises of 2008. I do not recall President Bush spending four years blaming President Clinton for 9/11. After all, the planning and training for that devastating and tragic event did not take place over the span of 7½ months. It began well before President Bush took the oath of office.
