Michael Czikk has lived on White Street for about a year.
Wall had moved in next door about six months ago, he said, and he lived with a woman and four children. Whenever Czikk’s 2-year-old son was playing outside, he said Wall was always nice and friendly and spoke to him.
“They’re great people,” he said, “the nicest family.” Czikk said he and his wife didn’t hear any loud noises early this morning and only woke up when they saw police lights flashing. “It happened 20 feet away, but we hadn’t heard anything,” he said. “It’s a shocker.”
However, he said that the death doesn’t make him feel nervous. “It’s so quiet around here,” he said. “It’s just strange. ...The noisiest thing is a car passing by.”
