MORE than 100 vases of flowers were on display at a local garden centre as Morpeth Chrysanthemum Society staged its annual show.
The event took place at Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre, off the A697, for the 20th year running.
And visitors were impressed with the standard of blooms on show, which included entries from national champions.
Centre General Manager Roger Wale said: “For the past 20 years the Morpeth Chrysanthemum Society Annual Show has been held at Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre.
“This year’s displays consisted of more than 100 vases of flowers, including entries from national champions. It was a fantastic event and the flowers were absolutely beautiful.”
The show was judged by National Chrysanthemum Society judge Peter Fraser, who has been growing the flowers for more than 30 years and breeding them since 1996.
There were 13 classes, with prizes, including Heighley Gate gift vouchers, awarded for first, second and third places.
