Epiphany student's art chosen for state anti-drug calendar

According to spokesmen for Attorney General Linda L. Kelly, the yearly competition encourages “fifth-grade students from across Pennsylvania…to create an original work of art illustrating a drug-free message of their choice.” A dozen winners are selected to represent each new month, and a “grand prize” winner’s picture is displayed on the calendar’s cover. Former Epiphany student Lauren DiWilliams’ four-part drawing appeared on 2011’s calendar cover. “This year, the winners were chosen from a competitive field of entries from schools throughout Pennsylvania,” contest spokesmen continue. “The winners were chosen based on the artists’ creativity and ability to illustrate and convey a drug-free message.” When she’s not in school or doing homework, 11-year-old Erin – a Blue Bell resident – keeps busy with soccer, basketball, field hockey and skiing.
